A cloudy lens, known as a cataract, blurs your vision. You may have a cataract in just one eye or both eyes. Even though cataracts may be present, they may not cause vision problems to require medically indicated removal.
Besides age, cataracts can be caused by other factors. These factors include diseases (i.e. diabetes), excess exposure to sunlight, lifestyle (i.e. smoking), ocular trauma, and the use of certain kinds of medication (i.e. steroid ingestion).
