PLAN A: BASIC SERVICES
- Covered under the medical plan (MSP).
- Perform basic medically necessary measurements required for the implantation of the INSURED IOL only (NO SPECIAL DESIGN LENSES).
- Surgical outcome is less accurate and less predictable.
PLAN B: SPECIALTY SERVICES
- Not covered by MSP, paid by the patient privately to Dr. Butler.
- Provides a more accurate and predictable surgical outcome. These additional measurements help in determining the depth and location of the surgical wound. The cost of these services is for each eye.
Plan B services are required:
- If you wish to proceed with the most accurate and predictable surgical plan with reduced dependence on corrective lenses.
- To estimate which IOL is most beneficial for each eye. This is optional. The recommended IOL may be the basic INSURED IOL or a SPECIAL DESIGN IOL. Fees will be applied regardless of which lens is recommended.
- If you have chosen a Special Design lens – testing MUST BE DONE for a more accurate surgical prediction.
- If you have had LASIK, PRK or corneal surgery. There are many variables to take into account while calculating the correct implant power to ensure accuracy once the eye has been altered.
