What is astigmatism?
With astigmatism, the curve of the cornea is not the same in the horizonal and vertical directions. Rather than the cornea appearing like a baseball, it is more like a football or an egg. As a result, light rays entering the eye do not focus at a single point and can cause distorted vision. Measurements done in our clinic will determine whether or not you have astigmatism.
